In today’s video, we take our RV from Talkeetna to Denali National Park for one of the most incredible adventures of our entire Alaska RV trip!
We have reservations at TWO campgrounds inside Denali, and this video takes you along for both experiences. Our first stop is Riley Creek Campground, near the entrance to Denali National Park. We explore the park on a couple of hikes, take in the breathtaking Alaska scenery, spot moose, explore the Denali Visitor Center, and enjoy the incredibly entertaining Denali Cabin Night Dinner Theater.
And then we meet some of Denali’s cutest residents! 🐕❤️ We attend the Denali Sled Dog Demonstration, where we learn about the role of sled dogs in Denali’s history—and, of course, get completely distracted by the adorable puppies!
But our adventure is just getting started.
We pack up the RV and head deep into Denali National Park to Teklanika Campground—the furthest you can drive an RV into the park. From there, we ride the Denali bus system farther into the park, head out on a tundra hike, and experience the incredible wilderness of Denali.
And then we get the wildlife experience we came to Alaska hoping for…
🫎 MOOSE
🐏 DALL SHEEP
🦌 CARIBOU
🐻 GRIZZLY BEAR
We checked off ALL FOUR of Denali’s Big 4!
This was an absolutely unforgettable experience and one we think should be on the MUST-DO list for anyone planning to RV to Alaska.
We’ll also wrap up the video with our Denali RV camping tips and tricks, including things we learned that can help make your own Denali adventure easier and more enjoyable.
